Sharing experience in the daily management of an archaeological site, open to the public.

This meeting will enable members of the Network to learn about the Coudenberg team’s 15 years of experience in the daily management of an archaeological site, open to the public. The archaeological site of Coudenberg is an exception within the network of European Royal Residences, as the material remains of the former palace were slowly uncovered in the 80s thanks to  very specific archeological excavations in public spaces. In the 90s and 2000s, Coudenberg’s teams worked consistently to show the site, notably through a series of publications, and by making it accessible to the public. The palace’s ongoing projects, such as the study on climate and the digitization project, will be presented, as well as its approach to educational matters. This meeting will also be an occasion to visit other important sites in the field of archeology: Bruxella 1238 and the archeological laboratory of Brussels.
