Digital technologies have become a matter of course in our daily business routine. On the one hand in order to increase the visitor experience via Virtual Reality, apps, online guided tours or similar offers. Tools respectively software as e.g. Matterport are used as well for sales purposes as for scientific documentation and visualization purposes. On the other hand other systems are used to support e.g. visitor flow management or allow dynamic pricing. An open dialogue should be possible about the different approaches towards the great variety of systems and practical application of them, either already existing or planned in the near future. A very interesting aspect of the meeting will be to find out how the pandemic crises has changed existing strategies toward the topic of digitalization, has led to a higher focus on this field and in which way this has or will become visible. At Schönbrunn e.g. just recently a cooperation with an external company has started, offering a Virtual Reality Tour back in time, as addition to the practical tour of the palace. Together we’ll plunge into the time of Maria Theresa, Sisi and Franz Joseph. In addition we’ll present our Schönbrunn App to you as well as some selected visualization examples. We ask you to make short contributions of about 10 - 15 minutes sharing your institutions’ experiences.

Aims of the meeting:

• Offer a dialogue between professionals on the issues mentioned above
• Promote exchanges of practices between professionals.
• Analyse and compare the projects and achievements of the European royal residences in this field.
