Hospitality and Catering in European Royal Residences: Management Models, Cultural Tourism and Food Heritage

The Royal Palace of Colorno proposes to host a technical meeting dedicated to hospitality and catering in European royal residences, examining their strategic role in enhancing visitor experience and heritage value. The discussion would focus on management models (concessions, public-private partnerships), quality standards, economic and environmental sustainability, and the integration of catering services within historic and museum contexts, while respecting the artistic and identity values of the sites. Particular attention would be given to catering as a tool for cultural storytelling, linking court history and local gastronomic traditions to contemporary audiences. Drawing on its experience in Parma — UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy — and the presence of ALMA at the Palace, Colorno aims to foster exchange of best practices and encourage future collaborative projects within the Network.
