Meetings
Technical meetings (TM) are the core of the annual programme. The aim is to gather experts of member institutions during two days, alternating plenary sessions and technical visits, in order to create a space for the exchange of best practices. Technical meetings generally focus on very concrete and current topics to improve the skills of experts working in palace-museums and provide occasions of networking. Three Technical Meetings per year allow member institutions to take centre stage, opening their palace gates and providing space for fruitful discussions and invigorating cultural connections and knowledge exchanges between working professionals. From historical water management in palace gardens to digitalisation strategies in the midst of a pandemic, our technical meetings highlight the vast issues and opportunities palace-museums are presented with in the 21st-century.
Executive meetings. The General Assembly (GA) is one of the highlights of the annual program providing a space where the directors can meet, exchange ideas. This is a unique opportunity for managers to share their vision with their peers in Europe and to get to know each other better. It is also an opportunity for them to actively take part in the life of the Network of European Royal Residences by taking decisions on the programme of activities and thus contributing to how the network is beneficial for their institution. In addition to the plenary working sessions, several visits of the museum are organized as well as a Gala Dinner. The occasion presents itself for the host institution as an opportunity to invite their stakeholders/sponsors and to highlight to the local authorities its international partnerships.
At least twice a year, the board members meet in order to supervise the implementation of the activities decided by the General Assembly.
